Hansen Residence
A collaborative design for a net zero home in northern BC.
This private residence is the result of a comprehensive, integrated design process that included architects, structural and mechanical engineers, timber frame fabricators, and several specialized sub-consultants. The goal of the project was to build a net zero home which in and of itself can be a challenge, but even more so in northern British Columbia where winter temperatures often stay below zero degrees. Some of the energy saving features include a super insulated R-100 roof, an extensive solar PV array, and a geothermal heat pump.
