Location: Rossland, BC
A challenging site is a common design constraint for residential projects in the Kootenays. Our mountainous region lends itself to steep sites in communities like Nelson and especially Rossland. This home is situated on a small, uniquely shaped urban lot and required creative use of space to meet all the regulatory setbacks yet meet the clients’ needs for programming, views, and size. A unique roof design which bridges the main house to a rental unit and two-port garage with an integrated breezeway brings the two building volumes together as one composition.
